The Graco Magnum X5 (model 262800) is one of the most popular airless sprayers ever made — and for good reason. But like any machine with a piston pump, it has wear components that need replacing. The problem most owners run into is not knowing which parts exist, what they're called, or what Graco's part number is — until something breaks mid-job.
This guide changes that. Below is every replacement part your X5 will ever need — organised by system, with the correct OEM part number, what each part does, when to replace it, and a direct link to order from our factory-sealed inventory. Bookmark this page and never be caught without the right part again.
The Magnum X5 (model 262800) was produced across multiple series: Series A, B, C, D, and E. Some parts differ between series. Your series letter is on the silver serial tag on the machine body — it appears after the model number (e.g. "262800E" = Series E).
All parts in this guide are called out by series where they differ. When in doubt, use our interactive X5 parts diagram or call us at 713-931-4102 — we'll confirm the right part for your specific machine in under two minutes.
The pump is the heart of the X5. The embedded piston pump draws paint under suction and pressurises it through the hose. Unlike contractor-grade machines where the pump is a separate unit you can slide out, the Magnum X5's pump is integrated into the machine body — you service it through the easy-access door or replace the pump assembly as a complete unit.
Motor runs but pressure is weak, cycles constantly at rest, or the machine won't prime after 30+ seconds of running. Run the 15-second test: switch to SPRAY with no tip, release the trigger — good pump holds pressure for 15+ seconds before motor restarts. Under 10 seconds means service is due.
The complete pump rebuild kit for the Magnum X5. Includes the pressure control assembly, outlet valve, inlet valve, drain valve, and push prime kit — everything needed to restore full pump performance. This is the single most important part to have on hand for any X5 owner. OEM only — aftermarket kits use inferior materials that fail in 90 days.
When the 17V781 repair kit no longer restores performance — typically after 2–3 rebuilds or if the cylinder bore is scored — the ProXChange drops in without tools in under 5 minutes. Factory-fresh performance, zero guesswork.

Find via DiagramThe three valves in the X5's fluid path each have a specific job and a specific failure mode. Knowing which is which saves enormous diagnostic time when the machine misbehaves.
Includes inlet housing, ball, spring, and instructions. The most common reason the X5 won't prime after storage — the ball dries against the seat. Replace ball and seat together, never one without the other.
Shop 17J876When the X5 primes but won't hold pressure at the gun — hose pressure bleeds back through the outlet valve on every intake stroke. This kit restores the upper check valve and eliminates that pressure-drop cycle.
Shop 17J880Includes valve handle and grooved pin. When worn, the drain valve leaks internally in SPRAY mode — paint returns to bucket instead of building pressure in the hose. Misdiagnosed as a pump problem constantly. 10-minute fix.
Find via DiagramThe Push Prime button (ball knocker) is the fast-prime feature that frees a stuck inlet ball on startup. When it stops working, startup is slow and unreliable. This kit restores proper knock-valve function quickly.
Find via DiagramThe X5 ships with a 515 RAC X SwitchTip. It has a maximum tip size of .015" orifice — never use a tip with a larger orifice or you'll overload the pump and get inconsistent pressure. Replace spray tips when the fan width collapses 25% from its original size.
The factory-included tip. Works on 95% of interior latex jobs. Replace when fan collapses to 7.5" or less — you'll notice higher paint consumption and inconsistent patterns before you see the fan change.
Shop RAC X 515Step down from the 515 for trim work. Narrower 8" fan delivers more controlled application on mouldings and doors — eliminates overspray on edges and prevents runs on enamels.
Shop RAC X 410The X5 ships with the SG2 metal spray gun (part 243011 for model 262800). It has a filter built into the handle that catches debris before it reaches the tip — keeping this filter clean is the #1 way to prevent tip clogs mid-job. Check and replace the gun filter every job or every time you load a new bucket of paint.
A clogged or dirty gun filter is the cause of more "tip clogging" complaints than actual tip wear — by a wide margin. Before you reverse your tip to clear a clog, pull the gun handle filter and inspect it. If it's coated in debris or paint skin, replace it. Keep 5+ filters in your kit at all times.
The complete metal spray gun included with X5 (262800 and 17K955 models). Replace when the trigger stiffens beyond adjustment, the gun body cracks, or the handle filter housing is damaged.

Find via DiagramSeals around the suction tube where it enters the pump housing. When cracked or worn, air enters the fluid section causing inconsistent priming and sputtering spray pattern. Often overlooked as a cause of air-in-line problems.
Find via DiagramThe mesh filter inside the SG2 gun handle. Catches debris before it reaches the tip. Costs under $5 — clean after every job, replace when mesh is visibly clogged or damaged. Keep 5+ on hand at all times.
Find via DiagramThe X5 ships with a 25-foot DuraFlex hose. It's upgradeable to a maximum of 75 feet of total hose length. Inspect the hose before every job — a soft spot, bulge, or jacket crack is a high-pressure blowout waiting to happen. Never operate with a damaged hose.
The factory-included 25-foot DuraFlex paint hose. ¼" diameter, 3,000 PSI rated. Replace when the outer jacket cracks, shows soft bulging, or fittings begin to weep. Never patch a high-pressure hose — replace it.
Find via DiagramThe complete suction assembly — everything from the suction tube that goes into the paint bucket to all clamps and fittings. Replace if the flexible section cracks or if priming problems occur with no other identifiable cause.
Find via DiagramThe X5 does not use TSL (Throat Seal Liquid) — that's for contractor-class piston rod machines. The X5's maintenance fluid is Pump Armor only, run through the machine at the end of every use before storage. This is not optional — it's the single most important thing you can do to extend the life of your X5's pump.
Storing without Pump Armor. Latex paint left in the pump dries on the valve seats, check balls, and internal surfaces. On startup, the dried residue causes the inlet ball to stick — the machine won't prime. Run Pump Armor through after every job, every time, without exception. Graco's documentation on the X5 specifically states: "store the sprayer with Pump Armor between every use."
Run through the pump and hose after every job, before storage. Prevents corrosion, inhibits freezing, and leaves a protective film on valve seats and balls that keeps the inlet ball from bonding to its seat. One bottle = approximately 4–6 storage flushes.
Shop Pump ArmorComes included with the X5. If the adapter is lost or damaged, it connects to any standard ¾" garden hose fitting and makes flushing the pump after latex jobs a 3-minute task instead of a 10-minute bucket job.
