What is Graco 172200 Piston, Priming?
The Graco 172200 Priming Piston is a precision OEM pump component used within Graco airless spray systems to support the priming process. It regulates fluid movement during priming mode, allowing the system to efficiently draw material and establish proper operating pressure.
This piston is engineered to maintain consistent sealing and movement inside the priming assembly, helping ensure reliable startup performance, reduced pressure loss, and smoother transition between prime and spray modes.
Key Function
The priming piston plays a critical role in shifting the sprayer between priming and spraying states, enabling controlled fluid circulation and system pressure stabilization.
- Controls fluid flow during priming operation
- Supports pressure buildup for spray readiness
- Maintains sealing integrity inside pump assembly
- Helps ensure smooth startup performance
Installation Notes
The 172200 piston should be installed as part of a compatible Graco pump assembly by a qualified technician. Proper lubrication, alignment, and inspection of surrounding seals are recommended to ensure optimal performance and prevent premature wear.
