The Graco 246381 pump repair kit is a complete rebuild kit that fits the Graco 390, 395, 490, and 495 PC airless sprayers. It includes upper PTFE packings, lower leather packing, inlet valve, outlet valve, throat seal, and all o-rings. Installation takes around 45 minutes. Available from SprayersParts at up to 40% below dealer pricing — in stock and ships same day.
The Graco 246381 is a complete pump rebuild kit designed to restore a worn-out Graco airless sprayer pump to full factory performance. When your Graco 390, 395, 490, or 495 PC starts losing pressure, cycling constantly, or leaking paint from the throat, the pump packings and valves are the first thing to replace — and the 246381 kit contains everything you need to do the job in one purchase.
Rather than buying individual seals, packings, valves, and o-rings separately (and risking getting the wrong part), this complete kit bundles every wear component for a proper rebuild. It's the most cost-effective way to bring a failing pump back to full 3,300 PSI performance.

5. Installation Guide
Safety first: Always fully depressurise the sprayer before beginning any repair. Airless sprayers operate at up to 3,300 PSI. Trigger the gun to release all pressure, engage the trigger lock, and disconnect power before disassembly.
1
Depressurise & Flush
Turn prime/spray valve to PRIME. Trigger gun to release pressure. Turn off, engage lock, disconnect power. Flush pump with compatible solvent until clean, then drain completely.
⏱ ~8 min
2
Remove the Pump Assembly
Remove the two housing bolts with a 3/4" wrench. Pull the displacement rod straight out — avoid bending. Place on a clean surface.
⏱ ~5 min
3
Replace Inlet & Outlet Valves
Unscrew outlet valve seat (counterclockwise). Remove old ball and spring. Install new outlet valve assembly from kit — torque to 50 ft-lbs. Repeat for inlet valve.
⏱ ~10 min
4
Replace Packings & Throat Seal
Using packing wrench (218203), remove old packings. Install lower leather packing first, then upper PTFE packings flat-side up. Install new throat seal. Add TSL to throat area.
⏱ ~12 min
5
Replace O-Rings
Clean all o-ring grooves with a solvent rag. Lightly lubricate new o-rings with TSL before installing. Ensure each ring seats fully in its groove without twisting.
⏱ ~5 min
6
Reassemble & Test
Reinstall pump rod. Tighten housing bolts to 18 ft-lbs. Prime at minimum pressure — full pressure should return within 2–3 strokes. Perform 15-second cycling test to confirm repair.
⏱ ~5 min

The 246381 kit fits the Graco 390 PC, 390 Hi-Boy, 390 Stand, 395 PC, 490 PC, and 495 PC. Call us at 713-931-4102 with your serial number if you need confirmation for your specific unit.
Upper PTFE packings (×2), lower leather packing (×1), throat seal (×1), outlet valve assembly (×1), inlet valve assembly (×1), full o-ring set (×8), piston rod seal (×1), and illustrated installation instructions. Everything for a complete rebuild is included — no additional parts needed.
We stock both the genuine Graco OEM kit and a premium OEM-compatible aftermarket version. The aftermarket version uses identical PTFE packings and stainless steel valve components and saves up to 40% vs the OEM price. Both come with a fit guarantee.
For a first-timer, expect 60–75 minutes. For an experienced contractor who has done this before, 30–40 minutes is typical. Our technicians are available at 713-931-4102 to walk you through the installation free of charge.
If pressure loss persists after a correct rebuild, the most likely causes are a scored displacement rod (run your fingernail down the rod — grooves mean replacement needed), a failed pressure control transducer, or motor brush wear. Call us and we'll diagnose it over the phone.
Pro tip: When buying a pump repair kit, match the kit to your model number — not just the part number on the box. Graco releases updated kits that supersede older numbers.
