Precision HVLP side-cup gun for clean, controlled fine-finish spraying
Compatible Machines / Setups
This is a stand-alone air spray (HVLP) gun. It does not mount on Graco electric/airless sprayers (Ultra, GMAX, Mark series, etc.). It “fits” any setup that provides clean compressed air and cup-fed material.
- • Any air compressor capable of ~10 SCFM @ 30 psi (or higher), with 1/4" NPT air line and regulator/filter.
- • Shop or booth regulated air supply systems used for finishing lines.
- • Graco or third-party air/HVLP finishing rigs that supply compressed air (non-turbine).
Note: For thicker coatings, a larger needle/nozzle set may be required.
The Graco 24J599 Finex Air Spray Gravity-Feed Side-Cup Gun is a lightweight, ergonomic HVLPspray gun with a swiveling side cup for better access in corners and tight spaces. Supplied with a 1.2 mm (0.047") needle/nozzle, it’s ideal for clear coats, stains, sealers, and other fine-finish materials where pattern control and a smooth surface are critical.
Key Features
- Swiveling side-mounted gravity cup improves reach and visibility.
- HVLP performance for high transfer efficiency and reduced overspray.
- 1.2 mm setup targets fine-finish, lower-viscosity coatings.
- Integrated on-gun air adjustment (“cheater” valve) for quick dialing-in.
- Lightweight body and smooth trigger pull for reduced fatigue.

What’s Included
- Finex gravity-feed side-cup gun body
- 1.2 mm needle/nozzle set (installed)
- Aluminum gravity cup (side-mount)

Set-Up & Use Tips
- Use a regulator & filter at the gun or drop to maintain stable pressure and clean air.
- Strain coatings; thin per manufacturer guidance for 1.2 mm or step up to a larger setup for higher viscosity.
- Start ~29–30 psi at the gun, test spray, then fine-tune fan/flow for pattern uniformity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Those are airless units; this is an HVLP air gun. It does not connect to airless pumps/hoses. Use a compressor that can provide roughly 9–10 SCFM @ ~29–40 psi and a clean, regulated air line.
The 1.2 mm needle/nozzle is geared to fine-finish, lower-viscosity materials like clears, stains, lacquers, and waterborne finishes that are properly thinned/conditioned. For thicker primers or high-build coatings, consider a larger setup.
The gun uses a 1/4" NPT air inlet. Use a clean, filtered, and regulated air line with compatible quick-connects. Keep hoses short where possible to limit pressure drop and moisture traps to keep air dry.
