Frequently Asked Questions
Not exactly. This part is a Q-style strainer element for compatible strainer housings. Some sprayers use “Easy-Out” manifold filters (different form factor/part numbers). Always match the form factor and part number in your manual.
200-mesh is very fine and is typically used for light-bodied coatings, stains, varnishes, clears, and where extra filtration is required. Heavier or filled materials may require a coarser mesh to reduce clogging—follow your coating and equipment guidelines.
Replace or clean whenever you see pressure drop, reduced flow, or visible contamination buildup. High-solids coatings or dirty environments will shorten service intervals. Keep spares on hand to minimize downtime.
It fits systems that specify the Q-style, 200-mesh element with part 238442. Check your model’s parts list; if your manual lists 238442, you’re good. If it lists an Easy-Out or a different mesh/part number, order that exact item instead.
Depressurize the system, remove the housing, and inspect O-rings/seals. Insert the new Q-strainer with correct orientation, seat it fully, and reassemble per the manual. Prime and check for leaks and pressure stability.
