When to Use 100 Mesh
- Best for thinner materials (e.g., stains, clear coats, lacquers, enamels).
- If you’re spraying thicker materials or very large tips, consider a coarser mesh (e.g., 60 mesh) to reduce restriction.
Maintenance Tips
- Inspect and clean/replace the manifold filter regularly to maintain spray quality.
- Flush thoroughly after each use, especially with solvent-based coatings.
- Replace a dented, torn, or heavily stained screen—don’t continue spraying with a compromised filter.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. 224468 supersedes 167026 and is the same long 100-mesh manifold/outlet filter used on many older Graco sprayers.
Use 100 mesh for thinner materials like stains, clear coats, lacquers, and enamels. It provides fine filtration to help prevent gun clogs and improve finish quality.
No. This part is the long screen for older-style manifolds. If your sprayer uses a short screen, you’ll need the short version specified in your model’s parts list.
A common guideline for 100-mesh work is .013"–.015" tips (depending on material and technique). Always test and adjust for your coating and project.
Check your sprayer’s manual or parts breakdown for the manifold filter part number. If it lists 167026 or 224468, this is the correct long 100-mesh screen.
