About This Part
Graco 238438 Q Strainer 60 Mesh Multi-Pack is a long-style Easy-Out manifold filter that helps protect your pump and spray tip by screening debris before it reaches the hose and gun. The 60 mesh rating targets medium-to-heavier materials (common interior/exterior latex, primers, block-fillers), reducing clogs and improving finish quality.

When to Choose 60 Mesh
- Production interior/exterior latex paints and most primers
- Block-filler and other higher-solids coatings within your sprayer’s rating
- Common tip sizes around .015–.029 (manufacturer & coating dependent)
Install & Care
- Relieve pressure and lock the gun trigger.
- Unscrew the Easy-Out cap from the manifold block and remove the old strainer.
- Insert the new 238438 (long) strainer, then reinstall and snug the cap.
- Prime briefly; monitor pressure and pattern. Clean or replace when flow drops or pattern falters.
Frequently Asked Questions
Long. It fits manifolds that use the #7 (11 mm bore) long cap. If your unit uses the short (#5) cap, this is not the correct filter.
Most interior/exterior latex paints, many primers, and heavier-bodied coatings that benefit from coarser screening. Use finer meshes for thin lacquers or stains as recommended by the coating manufacturer.
Replace when you notice reduced flow, frequent tip clogs, or visible damage to the screen. Many pros carry spares and swap daily on heavy-solids jobs, then clean used strainers for reuse if the screen remains intact.
Typically no. Magnum/DIY units commonly use the short (#5) Easy-Out filter family. Verify your manual or manifold cap length before ordering.
Keep multiple meshes on hand (e.g., 60 and 100). Use the coarser strainer for heavier coats and switch to finer mesh for thin finishes to balance flow and filtration.
