Fitment & Installation Notes

Match threads: use only with 3/8-24 fine-thread studs/bolts.
“Jam” method: tighten the primary nut first, then hold it while tightening the jam nut snugly against it.
Inspect for wear: replace if threads are rounded, galled, or won’t hold torque.
Torque per assembly manual when specified; avoid over-torque that could distort thin jam nuts.

Best practice: verify the call-out on your model’s exploded diagram to ensure exact placement and quantity.

Frequently Asked Questions

If your parts list explicitly calls out 101448 or a jam nut 3/8-24, this is the correct OEM part. If it only says “nut” without thread/type, check the detailed bill of materials or contact support with your model and serial.

A jam nut is thinner and is used together with another nut to “jam” it in place. This prevents loosening from vibration—ideal for assemblies found in sprayers, hose reels, and elevator systems.

Quantity varies by assembly. Some hose reel builds list multiple units, while other systems use only one or two. Refer to your model’s exploded diagram for the exact count.

For best results, use the genuine Graco 101448. OEM parts ensure proper thickness, hardness, and thread tolerance so stack height and clamp load match design intent.
